This Is Why Your Hair Is Constantly Greasy And Tips On How To Prevent It ! – Healthy Positive Mind –
Hair is a symbol of beauty, a symbol of hygiene and femininity. The first thing we notice when we look at the mirror is the way our hair looks. And the last thing we want to see is greasy and messy hair.
If your hair is constantly greasy there might be something you’re doing that’s causing it and you’ll have to make some changes into your habits and routines. If you’re doing some of the following things you’ll need to stop because that’s what causing your hair problem.
That’s why a lot of people tend to wash their hair almost everyday, to prevent that greasy look which sometimes can happen just a day after we’ve washed it. This is completely wrong, because greasy hair is a symptom of something deeper and washing it every day doesn’t address the root problem. It can even make things worse.
Washing your hair every day isn’t good because you’re not allowing your hair’s natural oils to form which is just making it create even more. Try to wash your hair 2-3 times a week maximum.
2.TOUCHING YOUR HAIR TOO OFTEN
You touch your hair all the time; you play with it, swipe your fingers through it and so on. You’re transferring dirt and grease from your fingers to your hair and this is what’s making it greasy.
It may be helping you but if you’re using too much or if you’re not rinsing it completely it may be the culprit for your greasy hair. You may be applying a conditioner that’s too heavy for your hair type, which can weigh it down. Or you may not be washing it out properly – another grease-giving culprit. And finally avoid placing your conditioner all over your hair, focus on the ends to avoid causing oily roots and lank lengths.
Brushing your hair too much can stimulate oil production, which at first looks glossy, but soon looks greasy. Again, stick to detangling the lengths and ends if you’ve got an obsessive hair brushing habit.
Don’t comb your hair too much. At first glance it may make your hair look silkier but eventually it just makes it look greasier.
5. APPLYING THE WRONG PRODUCTS
You may be choosing styling products that aren’t compatible with your hair. Look for lightweight formulas and avoid ones that promise ‘shine’ and ‘moisture’ which would be better suited to dry or dull hair types.
6. PRODUCT BUILD-UP THAT NEEDS DETOXING
Styling products can cause the scalp and strands to become clogged up. If you’re a dry shampoo junkie (like most greasy hair sufferers), you might want to give your locks a detox by using a clarifying shampoo 2-4 times a month, or a product designed to exfoliate the scalp. It is the gateway to healthy hair, after all.
7. YOUR HAIRBRUSH IS DIRTY
Your hairbrush can harbor all sorts of nasties – build-up of stale styling products and dust are only the obvious ones! A clogged brush will transfer these onto the hair, making it feel dirty, so make sure yours is cleaned properly on a regular basis.
